When LaSante.net set out to digitize its pharmacy in 2012, it wasn’t just entering e-commerce - it was venturing into uncharted legal territory. French law hadn’t yet caught up with the EU directive permitting online drug sales. Once the law changed in 2013, LaSante became the first officially licensed online pharmacy in the country. But operating in this space came with a unique challenge: every order had to be reviewed by a licensed pharmacist, and all patient data had to be stored in certified, confidential environments.
